Frequently Asked Questions
An Enrichment Voyage is A Departure From The Ordinary
Enrichment Sessions & Field Programs
Are Enrichment Sessions and Field Programs included with my Voyage?
Enrichment Sessions and Circle of Interest activities are included in your Enrichment Voyage fare. Field Programs are available at a nominal additional charge.
Am I required to attend the Enrichment Sessions or Field Programs?
Of course not! An Enrichment Voyage is A Departure From The Ordinary, and we realize everyone boards with a different expectation of the Voyage and we encourage you to make the experience your own. Nearly all guests choose to attend at least a few Enrichment Sessions on topics that interest them, and most guests select several Field Programs, but attendance is not a requirement to enjoy an Enrichment Voyage.
Do I earn college credit for attending an Enrichment Voyage?
Unfortunately, no. Enrichment Sessions are not accredited and do not offer college credit. If you’d like to earn college credit while sailing aboard the MV Explorer, you may wish to consider the Institute for Shipboard Education’s Semester at Sea® program. Visit SemesterAtSea.org for information.

To learn more about Lifelong Learning for Senior adults aboard Semester at Sea® sailings, visit ISE's Lifelong Learners page.

Room service from a limited menu (sandwiches and sweets) is available from 2-10 p.m. every day. Outside of traditional meal hours, including afternoon tea and a late night snack, there is a pool-side snack bar, which offers a limited menu of food, drinks and snacks for purchase (e.g.: pizza, sandwiches, specialty coffees, smoothies, ice cream, and yogurt). With buffet-style service for breakfast and lunch and multiple open-seating dinner options, there's virtually no chance you'll go hungry on board.
